Human Resources Representative

Job Description

Delivers friendly, high-quality service to internal customers (HR Department, co-workers, employees and applicants).


Actively works with the department on process improvements.


Assists in interpreting company policies, benefits and processes to managers, employees and/or family members.


Responsible for processing benefit information and maintaining documentation in an orderly manner.


Maintains and develops jobs descriptions for OVHD.


Assists in developing processes and writing or updating company policies.


Responsible for OVHD's Leave of Absence processes.


Responsible for sending scheduled reminders to department managers on evaluations, licenses and certificates


Assists with New Employee Orientation.


Assists with HR activities such as open enrollment, annual service awards.


Responds to general department mail; types letters, memos, forms and miscellaneous correspondence.


Assists in filing of all employee personnel documentation.


Assists with and follows-up on HR activities as needed.


Answers HR department telephones, initiates action for urgent messages.

Leave of Absence


1.   Process and track all leaves of absences


a.     Enter in Meditech, update spreadsheet, follow up with Matrix


b.    Complete SDI integration


c.     Keep files updated with each change


d.    Send notice letters as applicable


e.     Complete EDD notices timely


 


Payroll


      1.   Process all status changes


a.     FT, PT, PD, Terminations


b.    Enter salary changes


c.     Send mandatory notices


 


Reports


      1.   Run monthly reports     


                  a.   Evaluations due


                  b.   License, certifications, re-orientation, mask


                  c.   Follow up on expirations, process suspensions


 


New Hires


      1.   Coordinate pre-employment appointments, Occupational Health


      2.   Process new hire paperwork, background


      3.   Enter in Meditech


      4.   Create file


 


Minimum Education:


High school graduate or equivalent required


 


Minimum Experience/Skills:


Three (3) to five (5) years' experience preferred in personnel or HR field


Must be detail and customer service oriented, manage multiple tasks, be an effective team member and demonstrate core values.


Experience with an HRIS database, Microsoft applications, and high level of Excel preferred


Must have demonstrated ability to use proper English and punctuation.


Data entry of 55-60 wpm with accuracy


Able to perform basic mathematical calculations

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
